Kourabiedes

Yields1 Serving
 1 lb Sweet Butter
 ½ cup Powdered Sugar
 1 Egg Yolk
 1 tsp Vanilla
 ½ tsp Almond Extract
 4 cups Flour, sifted
 3 cups Confectioners Sugar, sifted

Beat butter and sugar until creamy, about 15 minutes

Add egg yolk and flavorings, beating until well blended

Remove from beater, and gradually add sifted flour to make soft dough

4

Pinch off pieces of dough and shape into balls or crescents

Place on an ungreased cookie sheet 1" apart

Bake in oven at 350° for 20 minutes, or until lightly browned

7

Allow to cool slightly before removing from baking sheet

Toss warm cookies in confectioners sugar and toss a round until coated, then remove
